Jane Alison The Sisters Antipodes 03 December 2009 |
||
| The acclaimed American novelist Jane Alison has written a memoir of her exotic childhood, and done so, in the words of the Boston Globe, “with the insight of a novelist and the language of a poet.” It is a story—involving double spouse-swapping among diplomats, daughters who were mirror images of one another, and ultimately tragedy—that Alison originally tried to cast into fiction but found she couldn’t: truth was stronger, stranger, more biting. The Sisters Antipodes has received international acclaim and has also been turned into a mini-opera. Join us for an insightful evening with the author of what the Philadelphia Inquirer called “a groundbreaking, stellar memoir.” Moderator: Britt Stubbe (Journalist) In cooperation with: Arena Publishers Schedule: 7.30 pm - The Salon at deBalie opens 8.00 pm - Introduction / lecture / Interview / Q & A 9.30 pm - The End .....
