AAA ‘pop-art’: Son Lux, Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest

As part of the Holland Festival, American pop artist Son Lux will perform together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra on June 16 and 17.

Son Lux is an American pop artist currently storming the international scene with his eponymous trio. His distinctive arrangements and avant-pop songs betray his solid classical background. His music is rooted in folk and American avant-garde, notably Charles Ives, one of the founders of American experimental music, as one of his inspirations. This concert themed ‘pop-art’ will see Son Lux performing pieces together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Soprano Claron McFadden will join them to sing a track by Son Lux and some other songs. Expect orchestral repertoire as well as new work by Son Lux offering a musical glimpse into the future.
