Our personal interests at the John Adams reflect the breadth of our institute’s scope. Event coordinator Mieke Bleeker has a fascination for the history and politics of the United States and visits the country regularly. Program director Maarten van Essen has also lived in the U.S. and keeps abreast of news, trends, and authors in both Dutch and American literature. Director Tracy Metz is fascinated by cities, new technology and issues surrounding the decisions we as mankind and citydwellers make about the way we use the space around us.
