The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is about to kick off. From November 17 to 28, documentary lovers are invited to theaters throughout Amsterdam. This year, no less than 33 American films are screening throughout the program.

Don’t miss music documentaries like Jagged from Alison Klayman, Penny Lane’s Listening to Kenny G, Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song from  Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine. The festival’s Guest of Honor, acclaimed filmmaker and video artist Hito Steyerl, has selected some classics like Citizenfour from Laura Poitras and Nitrate Kisses from Barbara Hammer for her Top 10 program.

For something more adventurous, the new media program IDFA DocLab celebrates its 15th anniversary, presenting a brand-new artwork by Jonathan Harris. Known as IDFA’s Guest of Honor in 2017, when he presented the first scenes from In Fragments, Harris now returns with the complete work, a series of 21 short films. Together, they form a poetic account of Harris’s six-year ritual journey, dedicated to healing and transformation.
