Chris Caldwell, Senoir Editor, The Weekly StandardThis was the third event in our New America Series, sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a senior editor at The Weekly Standard and a contributor to The Financial Times, Christopher Caldwell is a Young Turk (if one can apply the term) in the American conservative movement.  His provocative arguments have covered everything from California’s budget crisis to intellectual property rights in France. In 2005 he published a laudatory article about Ayaan Hirsi Ali, which brought her to American awareness. Caldwell defended the thesis of his book, Reflections on the Revolution in Europe, that Islam is threatening Europe’s cultural foundations.
